Hormonal problems

Hormonal problems

The premenstrual syndrome (or tension; PMS, PMT) is characterised by a number of unpleasant symptoms (including depression, irritability, breast tenderness and bloating), which occur at particular times during the menstrual cycle. In most cases the symptoms are mild and bearable but sometimes they can severely affect the quality of the woman’s life. There are a number of useful treatments, which can help a great deal.

Excessive facial/ body hair: Hirsutism is a very visual and distressing condition. It is often associated with oily skin and acne. Although it can take a long time to treat effectively, there are many hormonal and physical treatments available. It is also important to look at any underlying hormonal imbalance (such as polycystic ovaries) and make sure that it is treated as this will reduce hirsutism.
